Mauao Trust - Administrator and Finance Officer
Mauao Trust is seeking a motivated and detail-orientated administrator with financial management acumen to join our founding operations team. This role is pivotal in supporting the establishment of our infrastructure to provide smooth administration and effective financial management for projects and programs led by Mauao Trust.
Start date: Immediate
Hours: 30 hours per week
Start rate: Negotiable
Location: Mauao and work-from-home
Reports to: Operations Manager, Mauao Trust
Works in conjunction with: Tauranga City Council
Key tasks include:
Admin
- Help to develop policies and procedures
- Provide essential admin support to all project work
- Manage day-to-day correspondence
- Scheduling and procurement
- Data collection and filing
- General Kaimahi support
Financial management
- Payroll
- Debtors and creditors
- Budget and cashflow management
- Handling daily transactions and reconciliations
- Financial reporting and compliance
The successful applicant will show proficiency with the use of all MS Office Suite platforms and Xero, have strong organisational and communication abilities, have an understanding for tikanga and reo Māori, and be self-motivated, proactive and able to manage priorities efficiently.

Mauao Trust - Communications Manager
A Communications Manager is sought by Mauao Trust to lead and enhance our internal and external communications providing a hands-on approach with website development, managing social media channels, and executing publicity strategies. This role is essential for delivering clear messaging while safeguarding cultural values and stakeholder sensitivities.
Start date: Immediate
Hours: 20 hours per week
Start rate: Negotiable
Location: Mauao and work-from-home
Reports to: Operations Manager, Mauao Trust
Works in conjunction with: Tauranga City Council
Key tasks include:
- Develop and maintain the website
- Implement communications strategies
- Develop and manage content across all platforms to increase engagement and reach
- Design, implement and manage publicity campaigns and press releases to promote projects and events, alongside our TCC media advisor
- Collaborate with Mauao Trust and TCC to ensure communications alignment
- Monitor and analyse media coverage, and report on outcomes
- Provide communication support to all project work
The successful applicant will be competent with web-builder applications and basic coding, track record in social media management and digital content creation, some experience with planning and executing publicity campaigns, have an understanding ok tikanga and reo Māori, and of course, excellent written communication skills.
